FAQ
What is the irid Teaching Fellowship?
irid's Teaching Fellowship takes bright, curious minds of Toronto and gives them a platform to incubate their creative work through the process of developing and teaching a course. Our Fall Fellowship is currently in full swing. Check back later this year for updates on becoming a Fellow in a future cohort.
When do classes begin / how long will they run for?
Classes are slated to begin September 22, running through late fall/early winter. Courses run weekly for anywhere between 3 and 12 weeks, depending on course content.
How much will courses cost? How big will they be? Where will they be held?
Course fees are set by each instructor based on the cost of running the course (space, equipment). Class size and location are similarly flexible and curated based on course and teacher preferences, ranging from formal classrooms at partner institutions to local community art studios. Check each course's page for details.
Why is it called the Institute for Relational Intelligence in Design?
We at irid believe the people of Toronto have immense capacity to make change in our city and beyond. Our approach to enabling this capacity is twofold: the broad application of design as creative problem solving, and the building of our collective relational intelligence — the secret ingredient that we believe unlocks the greatest work and collaboration.
